The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development awarded $6.1 million in Child Care Economic Development Grants to 25 organizations, a news release announced Thursday, Feb. 6. Among those organizations is Greater Bemidji, which will receive $575,000 to expand child care in the Bemidji area. Greater Bemidji’s Dave Hengel said in the release that the funding will support three different child care initiatives for Bemidji and the Red Lake Nation.
