EXCERPT: “Northeast Minnesotans have a favorable view of the region’s economy, and a third say their household income has increased over the past year, according to the Rural Pulse 2019 survey of more than 1,560 Minnesotans just released by the Blandin Foundation. Respondents of the region also feel job losses have declined steadily since the 2016 study findings. In addition, 59 percent feel that economic development is being promoted well, up from just 41 percent in 2016. Two-thirds believe there is an adequate workforce available for local businesses. Across the state, opinions and perceptions are varied. Jobs that pay a living wage, access to affordable healthcare and childcare, and concerns about opioids and drug abuse are shared across Minnesota’s communities—complex issues very much alive today at local, state and national levels.” FULLSTORY: http://bit.ly/2U7MtX6
